International Conference: "Function Spaces and Applications"

postponed to 01.10.2022 - 07.10.2022, Apolda, Germany

29.09.2020 - 06.10.2020, Apolda, Germany

Due to the coronavirus disease we had to postpone the conference date to 2022.

First announcement

The aim of the conference is to concentrate on new developments and results in the theory of function spaces and its applications. The conference has two preceding events. First, it will continue the conference 'New perspectives in the theory of function spaces and their applications' (NPFSA-2017) held in September 2017 in Będlewo (Poland). Secondly, it is part of a joint Chinese-German researchproject in the theory of function spaces. In that sense our conference succeeds the 'International Conference on Function Spaces and Geometric Analysis and their Applications' held at the Nankai University, Tianjin (China) in October 2019. We decided to have a joint meeting next year. Please pay attention to the unusual period we had to choose: Tuesday, September 29, 2020, is the day of arrival,Tuesday, October 6, 2020, the day of departure. Please pay attention to the postponed date in 2022: Saturday, October 1, 2022, is the day of arrival, Friday, October 7, 2022, the day of departure.

The topics we have in mind are:

We intend to bring together many young and established scientists from various fields and countries to present their latest results, to exchange new ideas and to step forward collaboration. We are glad that the following people accepted our invitation to speak on the conference:

The conference is essentially funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), no. Ha 2794/8-1.

Lectures

The programme of the conference consists of invited main lectures (speakers as above), contributions of the project members, and a limited number of shorter communications given by the participants. Please indicate your intention to give a talk and do not forget to send us your (tentative) abstract in the (preliminary) registration form! There will be an opportunity for adhoc-seminars.

Venue

The Conference will take place in

Hotel am Schloss , Apolda (Thüringen)

situated in a beautiful countryside about 20 km northwest of Jena. Apolda is a small town in central Thuringia – in the green heart of Germany. It is located in the center of the triangle Weimar-Jena-Naumburg, and quite close to a number of touristic attractions. The town was first mentioned about 900 years ago. Around 1700, the knitting industry began to grow, so that finally, at the end of the 19th century, Apolda was the wealthiest town of the whole region. Until the end of the last century Apolda was still famous for its textile industries. Our hotel in Apolda is located at a quiet place in the city centre, at the foot of the Apolda castle. It is well-equipped and experienced to host conferences like ours. Apolda has direct train connections to Erfurt, Leipzig and Halle, and is thus also easy to reach from the airports in Frankfurt/Main, Leipzig, and Berlin.

Costs

The accommodation is arranged at the hotel in single and double rooms with full board (buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner). The price is 110€ per night and person in a single room and 85€ per night and person in a double room. The regular conference fee is 150€.

Registration

If you are interested please pre-register online before February 28, 2020.

We are looking forward to meeting you in Apolda.
